What is affiliate marketing?
According to Google: Affiliate marketing is "a marketing arrangement by which an online retailer pays commission to an external website for traffic or sales generated from its referrals."but we can simply say, affiliate marketing is a marketing business, where you get to take other people products on the internet, these products could be physical products like cups, cutleries, books, toys, kitchen utensils, etc or online/digital products like e-books, online courses, software, website memberships, etc.
So you take these people’s products and promote them, then you get a part of the money that customers pay when they buy the product that you’re referring them to, either physical or digital.
I guess now you have a basic understanding of what affiliate marketing is about.
Where to find products to promote
To get started with affiliate marketing, you will have to find things known as affiliate programs or affiliate networks.What's are affiliate programs/networks?
Affiliate programs/networks are websites where you will be able to see a list of different products that you can promote as an affiliate.Now you You might be thinking that affiliate networks and affiliate programs are the same, that's why I personally feel it’s very important for you to know the difference between affiliate networks and affiliate programs.
I’ll just give a brief explanation of the both so that you’ll understand clearly the difference between the both,
Affiliate Networks:
These are websites or platforms where you get to see different collections of affiliate products that you can be able to promote and get links from these networks, then the links you will be given is what you’ll share to customers for them to buy the products. so when the purchase is completed through you link, then you will get your own share of the money.Affiliate Programs:
These can be in form of a websites created by a particular product and on the program, unlike on affiliate networks, here you can only get the affiliate link to the particular product that created the affiliate program.So, we can just summarize everything to be "Affiliate networks are like a network of affiliate programs under one umbrella while an Affiliate program is one that stands on its own for a particular product".
Now I believe that y'll know the difference between these two things, now let's go into our main title today which is “how we get to make money on WhatsApp with this affiliate marketing business model”
So,
The first thing you will need to do is, find an affiliate program or network and find a product that has a good payout. Don't worry I will show some list of different affiliate networks
But what I meant when I said a good payout is platforms or websites that would pay you anywhere from 30% commission on things you sell as an affiliate marketer.

So, let’s assume, for instance, you are able to find a supplement for weight loss that is targeted mainly towards overweight women that are looking to lose weight, and maybe selling price is at $100 per bottle and has a payout of 40%,
It means that you’ll definitely make $40 each time you refer someone who has been struggling with losing weight to successfully buy the products.
Once you are able to find any product that’s of that sort, all you need to do is, get the affiliate link of that product from the affiliate network or affiliate program.
How to get a affiliate link of a product
It’s simple, there will always be a part or maybe an option on the network where it’s gonna tell you to either “copy link”, “Promote Now” or “get link”.

Now that you know exactly how to get your link from an affiliate program or network, the next issue that we might face right now would be, using WhatsApp to get costumers that would be interested in what we’re trying to promote so now let's talk about that.
How you use WhatsApp for affiliate Marketing
There are 3 main ways that we can follow as long as WhatsApp affiliate marketing is involved.
- Using Your Status
- Using Niche Targeted Groups
- Doing Personal Follow Up
Now let's talk about them serially,
For the first one which is
Using your WhatsApp status: it’s really very simple and I guess y'all have an idea of what you will be doing here.
What I will recommend you to do is to get a new WhatsApp number dedicated only to what you’re trying to sell and once you have setup a new number, the next thing you need to do is begin our search for customers.
Bonus Tip to get customers from YouTube:
First go over to YouTube, Use the YouTube search bar and search for keywords like “How to lose weight”. From the results, you’ll see videos there that have millions of views now all you need to do is go over to the comment section and go through the comments and try to see the ones that seriously need help and try to reply to their comments, with the aim of providing as much help as you possibly can, once you reply up to about 20 people, you’ll start to get replies, then try to ask them for their WhatsApp contact off YouTube, and if maybe the share there contact with you, you will now have to them on your WhatsApp as your friends and once they are on your contact list, The will now be able to see your status where you will be posting stuffs about weight loss and with is technique you can quickly get 100’s of views and from there you can get clicks to your affiliate links.You can just put a link on your status, you’ll notice clicks and if the sales volume on the offer page is good enough, you’ll start seeing sales and commissions when you log into your affiliate network or program.
As for using groups:
It actually almost the same thing basically, You can just do some research for like “weight loss WhatsApp group links” maybe on Google. when you do a search like that on google, you should see results that look similar to the image below
Then from there you should be able to join about 500 groups. I know it might be hard, but it’s a grind, it worth it, you can just sit down and do it, once and for all.
You can post affiliate links to these groups.NOTE: No spamming. you can immediately be clicked of from these groups when you begin to send spam Links.
I recommend you offer value, give them little information maybe some tip on how to lose weight. when you send messages like this in a matured ways these people will know you and trust you more in the groups and the will be the one messaging you asking for products that could help them out. Then you can simply send the affiliate link to them to purchase some products that could help them.
Now you know how to use groups, the next method is
This is the most powerful one cause it means you have to connect with the person on a high personal level.
You will have to become his or her friend…
okay let's say that maybe you there contact from YouTube using the tip that I showed you guys earlier and once you have their contact in your phone, you can then start chatting with them privately, if possible, go look for other sales page of the same type of product you’re trying to sell on WhatsApp, and from there, you can scroll trough these groups to see if they have any pictures or videos of people that have lost weight, if there are, just take those pictures and share them with these your new friends you’ve made on WhatsApp.
So in this case there’s a very high chance they’ll likely buy what you’re recommending to them at that point because, first, you are now more like a close friend and no longer any random person. And its most likely that people the to buy what their friend recommends as opposed to what a random person recommends,
and secondly, he or she is seeing proof that what you’re recommending is something that is working for other people (if you show him or her before and after screenshots of people who have lost weight with what you’re promoting) this will likely boost the persons confidence and the will develop more interest in the product. Now what you will then need to do is, to send the link to the product to the person, and then if the customer makes a successful purchase, you will be paid 30% of what the person(customer) paid. And that's how people making money on WhatsApp through affiliate marketing.
